QSR reflected the total industry traffic declines in June and dropped by 3 percent from a year ago. Dollars remained steady and check size grew by 3 percent.
The NPD – CREST Spending Evolution Reports consist of a single-page “snapshot” of the details of spending across all segments and dayparts. The data consists of totals and comparisons of the percent changes in check totals and traffic of the current year vs. most recent year ago data. The top level reports, Total Restaurants, QSR, Midscale and Casual Dining, available at no charge from NPD, are published monthly. All other segment and daypart reports are published on a quarterly basis.
